The third and final CINTRAN Academy Event was organised in Brussels (Belgium), on March 5, 2024 by ICLEI Europe. After a fruitful exchange and the rise of a new community of practice, the CINTRAN team will offer the opportunity to convene the participants from the first and second CINTRAN Academies that took place in Kozani (Greece, 2022) & Ida-Virumaa (Estonia, 2023). In this in-person event, practitioners had the opportunity to discuss and unpack coal+ regions’ top priorities and co-create key messages. Such insights were showcased the day after, on the CINTRAN Final Take event to key decision-makers of the Just Transition in Europe, including representatives from European Commission departments and executive agencies such as DG ENER, DG REGIO and DG RTD, Committee of the Regions, EU MEPs, national authorities, private sector & civil society organisations.
Horizontal learning, co-creation and active participation was the focus of this day in order to bring alive all the lessons learned from the previous years of this community and the new challenges that have arisen in their regions. Different types of group sessions were held for participants to discuss, reflect, and develop their key recommendations.
