Energy efficiency and demand reduction

The CINTRAN project examined different responses to decarbonisation to help identify useful strategies for local and regional actors. When considering which decarbonisation projects to finance to help carbon-intensive regions navigate the transition, the first projects that come to mind are often renewable energy projects, or re-skilling programmes. A less obvious, but very beneficial, set of options are projects that focus on improving energy efficiency or reducing energy demand.
