Complaints against decarbonisation decisions in Poland
Unsuccessful legal efforts to allow mine development
In 2021, the private company Bapro filed a complaint against a resolution of the Rybnik City Council that blocked the construction of a coal mine in the Paruszowiec district. Bapro was proceeding through permitting to build a new mine to extract 115 million tonnes of coal from the Rybnik region. The Provincial Administrative Court in Gliwice dismissed the case, ultimately making this an unsuccessful resistance coping strategy.
