Bankwatch’s publications on transition in Upper Nitra (Slovakia)
From 2019, the NGOs Bankwatch and Friends of the Earth have published a number of short reports on opportunities related to energy transition in Upper Nitra. In April 2019, they launched a set of recommendations to feed into the Just Transition debate taking place in Upper Nitra and at the national level in Slovakia. In September 2020, they published a mini-report summarising the sustainable energy measures that should be taken for transforming the Upper Nitra region in the Trenčín administrative area. The reports proposed measures intended to reduce the outflow of money from the region, create jobs and make Upper Nitra a model region for just transition.
