Energy efficiency improvements in public buildings in Western Macedonia
Reducing energy footprint by improving insulation and power supply systems
Since 2019, the Region of Western Macedonia has embarked on a large number of projects to improve the energy efficiency of public buildings (schools, especially). In September 2021, the Municipality of Kozani, the region’s capital, has signed contracts to reduce the energy footprint of school buildings. The contracts concern the energy upgrade of a kindergarten of Kozani, as well as the municipal kindergarten in the Nea Kardia town. The projects include construction and electromechanical works, thermal insulation of buildings , replacement of lights, new automation systems, earthmoving, and wooden or metal constructions.
