The scientific team for the Green Transition Plan of Western Macedonia
In 2021, a Scientific Team for the “Green Transition” of Western Macedonia was developed. This was a partnership between the University of Western Macedonia, ANKO (a regional development agency created by local authorities, the state, agricultural co-operatives and the Chamber of Commerce), the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), and the Region of Western Macedonia. The group was created to draft and monitor the implementation of the Green Transition in the region. It will set the priorities of projects and actions, up to 2030. The goal of the team, and the region, is to reduce emissions by 55%.
