Electric vehicle investments
Investments in electric vehicles and electric vehicle infrastructure
One prominent adaptive, and potentially transformative, coping strategy is investment in electric vehicles. This includes investments in electric vehicle charging networks and infrastructure. Many regions are actively promoting investments in electric vehicles to replace economic activity lost due to decarbonisation policy.
Actors involved in this strategy include companies or entrepreneurs interested in creating new or expanded economic opportunities, and governments seeking to promote investment in their region. This strategy tends to be adopted from middle transition stages on as it becomes apparent that decarbonisation activities will proceed, and the switch to electric vehicles picks up speed.
